Every sovereign state has a Department which coordinates the conduct of its relations with the outside world.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Grenada is the entity responsible for the formulation and execution of the foreign policy of the State of Grenada as it involves the bilateral or multilateral relations with other states and with regional and international organizations. Indeed, the Ministry serves as the formal point of contact with the international community.
The Ministry is headed by the Minister of Foreign Affairs who provides policy guidance. The assistance of the Permanent Secretary and headquarters’ staff and the several Overseas Missions is critical in this process.
The Mission of the Ministry is to effectively promote Grenada’s interest within the Community of Nations in order to enhance its image and development.
This cannot be done in isolation, and as such, the Ministry must liaise and coordinate with other Ministries and Departments, Foreign Governments, Regional and International Organizations and other Stakeholders to fulfill this mandate.
