An International Monetary Fund (IMF) team led by Nicole Laframboise visited Grenada from March 15-22, 2017 to conduct discussions on the Sixth Review of Grenada’s IMF-supported program under the Extended Credit Facility (ECF). The ECF arrangement was approved on June 26, 2014 for an amount of SDR 14.04 million (then US$19.4 million, or 120 percent of Grenada’s quota at the IMF). Thus far, total resources of SDR 12.04 million (about US$17.5 million) have been made available to Grenada under the arrangement.

According to Prime Minister of Grenada Dr. Rt. Hon. Keith Mitchell, who was speaking with students of the T.A. Marryshow Community College at a recent motivational forum, the plan is to develop a duty-free site under the terms of a long-term lease with the Government of Grenada.

Grenada PM Applauds Coast Guard After Rescue Mission Saved Sailors Bound for SVG
ST. GEORGE’S, GRENADA, MONDAY 13 MARCH, 2017– GIS: Prime Minister and Minister of National Security Dr. Keith Mitchell has commended the Grenada Coast Guard for mounting a rescue mission to save the MV Persia II, which sank of the coast of Grenada earlier this month.
The MV Persia II was en-route to St.Vincent from Trinidad when it developed a leak and began to sink about nine miles off the coast of Grenada.
PM says Hard work is paying dividends

Grenadians, he says, have been integral to the economic growth and development underway. Speaking last week Friday at the re-commissioning of the Hubble Bridge in Gouyave, St. John, Prime Minister Mitchell expressed elation with the high commendation Grenada is receiving from across the region and beyond.
